MIDLAND VENEERS now operates from a 20,000 sq. ft. factory in Stourbridge, West Midlands and currently employs a team of 36 people, many of whom have been with the company all their working lives and are craftsmen offering a wealth of experience gained over the years.
However the origins of MIDLAND VENEERS dates back to 1932 when it was set up as a private company by Mr and Mrs Andrew Teasdale. The following extract from an article in The Birmingham Post dated September 22nd 1965, written four years after Mr Teasdale sold out to Venesta (Veneers) Ltd, gives a flavour of those early days:

Over the next 20 years MIDLAND VENEERS was taken under the umbrella of several large groups who were themselves subject to various mergers and restructuring policies until finally, in 1996 the then current owner, Spring Ram Group, sold the division to which they belonged. The new owners were Premdor of Ontario, Canada who specialise in large scale production of standard sized doors and MIDLAND VENEERS did not fit into their operating profile. Since then the team has not looked back, happy to be masters of their own destinies once again. Current turnover is in excess of £3m spread over a range of veneered products including doors, doorsets, wall panelling, furniture components, standard boards and radiator / air conditioning unit casings. These are supplied to national and international main and sub-contractors, joinery contractors, shopfitters, partitioning contractors, boat builders etc. The team works closely with many architects and clients from the design stage of their projects, through to selecting individual stocks of veneer in order to produce fully matched customised interiors.
